Honeymoon Day 5

Saturday

Rhonda went to a bakery and brought us back the best keesh and pastries ever! We sat in the backyard at the table and drank expresso and ate them while we looked over pictures of their trip to Europe!

Drove back to sue’s. Packed up some stuff, spent some time together on the back porch overlooking the beautiful mountains.

Packing took quite some time indeed! We ate the leftovers from Elways. It was still really good. We cleaned up the house some. Got on the road. Stopped at red rocks and walked up the stairs to look around.

Drove on I-70 through the Rockies. Stopped in Vail, walked around , took pictures and enjoyed the crowds and scenery.

Listened to podcasts and traveled through the Rockies. Read to eachother.
Alex has now nicknamed me “toad” which was weird at first, but now is rather funny and catching on quick.
It started with “let’s hit the road toad.” Haha

When we got through the beautiful rockies, we made it to Utah where we went to a KOA, set up our tent without a latern (in the pitch dark). Good thing my husband is an eagle scout ;)

Went to bed without knowing what Moab even looked like, because it was so dark there. We were excited to wake up and find out!

Honeymoon Day 4

Friday

Had coffee in the morning and decided to do some fun stuff!

Went to coors brewery in Golden, CO... waited outside in long line, met cool people!!!!!!!

Had four samples of beer (big ones). They all came free with the free tour!

Got tourist picture/postcard/Coors hat. We loved the brewery, it was such a cool place.

Drove around Golden, CO, an awesome town.

We decided to do a Go Kart track in Heritage park and make wagers. Alex actually won, but rae won by default because of the rules. Haha! Still not sure who’s getting what!

Drove to Rhonda and fritjof’s house in Denver. They are some great friends and Alex had not met them yet. So it was really good to see them.

They gave us awesome presents!!!! Including backpacks, shirts, alcohol, mixers, fold out camping seats, mirror for the bar, NEON sign for the bar, chalkboard for the bar!

Went to Elway’s steakhouse with them, Rhonda’s brother in law owns it!

It was awesome, I got enchilidas with prime rib inside them, alex got sea bass, we had some awesome mac n cheese, and super fancy alcohol.

Stayed in their guest room after watching the rockies beat the heck out of the cubs 17-2!

Honeymoon Day 2

Wednesday

*We woke up to find that we were on hooch of the day!
*Left the Cleary's home and went to walmart to get an oil change and go grocery shopping for the trip.

Bought a heating pad because my back cramps were pretty bad.... :(

*Tried to get out of Kansas city but spotted a Chic filet so we had to stop.....it is even more delicious than i remember. I even got lemon pie, yummy!

*While driving out of KC, we spotted Matt and Allie on the side of the highway. Two young kids who looked stranded cause their car broke down. We pulled over and decided to drive them about twenty miles down the highway with us to a gas station near their house. They were SO grateful!!!! It was really awesome.

*Read Alex blue like jazz in the car and did lots and lots of madlibs

*We got stuck at Kansas' largest tourist trap: the largest prairie dog in the world, a five legged horse, and basically just a crazy farm. Haha......Marvelous!

*I met a badger for the first time. They are mean and they hissed at me.

*We were Going to stop at this castle in this guy's backyard, but he wasn't home or something so even though we drove to it , we could only look at it from far away. :(

Listened to a lot of podcasts!

Driving through Colorado at night.....late!

we made dinner for eachother behind a gas station on a rock.

Got to sue and curt's CO mansion home (we had it all to ourselves!) at about 11pm.

Honeymoon Day 1

Our honeymoon has been amazing so far!! We are about one week into it, and two more to go!
I thought I'd post some highlights, but mostly PICTURES!

Tuesday:

We wanted to leave our early, but we didn’t’ actually end up leaving until 10 or so. What I will remember most about leaving Chicago is eating feeding eachother crackers with cream cheese and raspberry jalepeno jelly about thirty miles down I-55. The drive to saint louis was only supposed to take four hours, but we got caught in a lot of traffic several times due to construction.
*cracker barrel bought mad libs and ate my favorite: Raspberry iced tea and chicken salad
Saint Louis! The City Mueseum which was in itself the craziest experience ever. if you ever go to saint louis, you CANNOT PASS THIS UP! It's like a giant indoor playground. Alex and I will crawling through walls, climbing up tunnels, and going down monster slides. It was so much fun!

The drive across Missouri was brutal!

We stayed with the Clearys, who were SO welcoming and awesome. It was wonderful! Met their awesome dog hooch, from the famous "hooch of the day" email that Lisa sends out daily.
Went in and talked to Katie, lisa, and betsy for awhile! Let me tell you, these ladies are funny! One memory i won't forget: "Where did you go to ha skool?" haha. You gals are awesome

above: the famous hooch!

Lisa put out a picture of us from the wedding where we were staying. So cute!

Also the work of Lisa, she made us feel so welcome!

Showing off his bling

Above: A small tease of the city museum! wow!!!!!!!
